A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST
1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).
I work in tech to pay the bills.
2. Why do you make art?
I didn't know I had a choice! But, seriously, art allows me to express and comment on this crazy world.
3. What inspires you?
A blank canvas. It also scares me.
4. What/who are your influences?
Joan Mitchell. It's amazing she not only held her own with de Kooning, Guston and Kline, but, I think, surpassed them at a time when women were underrepresented and underappreciated.
5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?
I wish I could go back in time to the Cedar Bar in New York City and sit down and have a beer with Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning, Philip Guston, Franz Kline and other painters. They all regularly met and drank there. A fine time it would be.
